Wrapping it up in Houston - 2008

There is nothing like being in Houston, and the great friendships that I have made. Here's to friendship and late night PJ Parties. To great discussions, wine, laughter, MIU, dinners, cameras, taxi rides, support, encouragement, wine, hilarious laughter, fashion shows, the Quiltart/SAQA Reception, fresh coffee with cream in the morning, the spa, the pool and being totally comfortable with one another to let it all hang out!

Buying fabric from my friend, Wendy Richardson, Quilt Tapestry Studios - aren't they beautiful? I'll see her again when she comes out for Road to California in January.
Mother-of-Pearl buttons in unusual shapes, metal fabric - like the kind they made those lovely purses out of in the 30's. Bead bouquets on wire stems. A trio of rhinestones on black screen, and this absolutely hands-down amazing pearl and gun metal gray bugle bead trim from Czechoslovakia. All from Sandy Schor...and all for my heavy metal series! I also bought Grungeboard that is plain, with no cutouts, and a really cool hammer that you can pound on the Grungeboard to make patterns from Fiber on a Whim
The mostly apple, and some pear selection at the Central Market - the coolest grocery store that I have ever been too.

  1. I had the hardest time finding Wendy's booth because I didn't know the name of her business. I had bought from her a few years ago and made a great jacket from two of her fabrics and a matching trim. I was delighted to find her again this year and bought some gorgeous pieces to make another jacket to go with the sumptuous hand painted buttons I found at another booth. Sorry I missed seeing you.
Great pictures of the show. thanks for Sharing!
