Jen painted all of the walls and even inside the closet with this beautiful blue! The Robot quilt really pops out on the wall. I painted the trim and the bookshelf below it in a coordinating hi-gloss enamel. The large red pillows will have new pillowcases soon.
The bookshelf used to be a collection of books and keepsakes belonging to Dan and Jim (those are all boxed and put in the closet). Now the bookcase contains the complete Hardy Boys and Nancy Drew book collections.
I made these panels from fabric bought at Ikea and they are hung on shower curtain hooks to hide whatever is in the closet. This was another one of Jen's great ideas.
Here is the closet open, new Orange narrow shelves have been installed, record albums, games, sewing machine, and floor pillows for Jen's dorm room are neatly arranged. And hanging space for overnight guests to store their clothing.
Another view of the room. I am in the midst of re-painting my grandma Alice's old sewing cabinet. This is only the first layer, and I plan to use some decorative painting on this to brighten up the room.
