Make-It-University in Houston 2010

Make It University!  This is part of Quilting Arts and Cloth Paper Scissors magazines.  Leslie Tucker Jenison and I taught three workshops (one -Rootin Tootin Scissor Holsters and two -Texas Hold'em aprons) and worked in two Open Studios
Maggie Winfield in Surviving the Runway - this event is always one of the special highlights on Festival, where each participant makes art to wear out of unique and interesting materials - this year's theme was Carmen Miranda
The three winners of Surviving the Runway.  Great use of fruit.
This security guard told us that he absolutely loves the quilt festival - too fun!

The Texas Hold'em Apron.  Students tied Hoffman Bali pops into the side grommets so that they would wear them around their waists. An example of a very imaginative painted apron by one of our awesome students!

The Rootin' Tootin' Texas Cowgirl Scissor Holster. Students were given Hoffman Bali Pops to make either a shoulder holster or to be worn around the waist.  An example of a delightfully painted scissor holster.

That's us painting on the Graffiti Wall.  We enjoyed painting on the wall after each of our workshops.

Quilting Arts booth - a feast for the eyes!

More Quilting Arts with books and magazines - check out the new "Quilt Scene"

We're ready to rock n' roll in Make-It-University!

This was painted on one of the tables in MIU - it seemed to capture the essence of it all

Day of Departure on Sunday - a group hug with Pokey Bolton
