Bird Girl

Bird Girl; made for Quilting Arts eMag 'Surface Explorations.'  Background, bird, cup and face have been painted, by way of foam stamps - some pre-made, and some hand made.

I use acrylic paint, instead of fabric paint, partly because I have it on hand, and because I like the consistency of it on fabric.  I also do my surface design, after the quilt is made, which is quite different from everyone else.

  1. I also love the way acrylic paints sits on top of the fabric and almost adds another layer of texture and dimension to the work. Bird Girl has quite a talent for keeping everything in balance!
