TSC Book, 500th Post and Mistyfuse!

The Sketchbook Challenge BOOK, by Sue Bleiweiss
Welcome to The Sketchbook Challenge Blog Hop!  This is my 500th post on my blog - a red letter day!  Be sure to visit Lynn Krawczyk's blog today too!  http://fibraartysta.blogspot.com/

In my portion of the book titled "Dwellings" I made an accordion book of houses.  The front of the book consists of a layer of fabric that has been fused to watercolor paper with Mistyfuse (Ultraviolet - for sheers, because it simply disappears).  The pattern pieces on the right, are the cover for my book.  They were also Mistyfused (with White) to the fabric, without needing to be sewn.
This is the other side of the house, that holds the book, and the back of the book.  There are a few tutorials on my blog on how to use Mistyfuse.  Click here to view.

Inside my neighborhood of unique houses.  Watercolors and other techniques.  You'll have to buy the book to see the expanded version of my house book.  The Sketchbook Challenge has been a tremendous experience for me as an artist.  It has brought me back to my roots of drawing and painting.  Being a mixed media artist, where my main medium in fabric and thread, I can see a change or slight shift in my work, because of what I am doing each month by interpreting a chosen theme.  I would have to say that it has broadened my horizons.
I made a house box, by Mistyfusing fabrics onto wool felt with a Timtex foundation on the bottom, so it would be free standing.  It zips open on one side, and the accordion book fits inside.  Photo Credit - Sue Bleiweiss

A Really GREAT Prize: From Mistyfuse (www.mistyfuse.comA 10yd combination package of Mistyfuse that includes 6 yards of White and 2 yards each of Black and Ultraviolet and a Goddess Sheet.  Total retail value: $48!  Leave a comment on this post by July 1st at Noon PST, and I'll do a random pick later that afternoon.  Let the fun begin!  Glad you could stop by my blog!
