The Little Black Dress, My Way!

My version of the little black dress.  This is being made onto a foundation of wool blended felt.  The trim was added first, sewn on my Bernina.  The fabrics are being added one at a time, and are Mistyfused.

I had alot of fun finding just the right fabrics for this project.

The bottom portion of the dress is a collage of all different black and whites, which goes with all of the pieces in this series.

Whoohoo...looking good!

on the design wall, next to my other piece.  The little black dress is part of a collaboration with two other friends, who are making their own style of dress 18" wide by 36" high.  The panels will be zipped together!  These are for a gallery show in NY with the group 8 that Create

You can see that I am adding the collage of red fabrics for the background, that I used on the other dress art quilt as well.  Stay tuned for more.  Got a pair of high heels on the work bench to repurpose too, for this show.

It reminds me of an african style dress with the fabrics you used.
