Work in Progress

Three sketchbooks from the last two years of my life, documenting designs, as well as, life.  I copied the images, some had to be enlarged, some reduced to fit.

And glued each one to these sheets, so that I could transfer them to fabric more easily, and certainly more efficiently, without wasting any paper backed fabric

My life in small squares

It is rather fun to see them altogether!

Spoonflower fabric that I made from a photograph of a pile of slides from my parents house.  I went through 32 carousels of slides, after their passing.  It was a daunting project, and these were the discards of people I didn't know, countless sunsets, waterfalls, and other things that my dad was fascinated with, but had no meaning to anyone else.  This project literally changed the way I take pictures.
I am Mistyfusing the Spoonflower fabric, using a large roll to cover a big surface.  I used a Fat Goddess Sheet to cover the Mistyfuse, to protect my iron.  The Goddess Sheet helps the fusible melt into the fabric for a really good seal.

Here is just one small section of the Spoonflower fabric.  I cut out the insides of some of the slides, and inserted the drawings from my sketchbook into them.  A tedious venture for sure.  I really like the look of it.  Stay tuned for more developments, as I work on getting the fabrics put together to create a large quilt.

  1. I love it and that is such a creative idea with your fabric and inserting the sketches. I got a few from my parents slides and started to go through them, yes there are a lot that I have no idea where or who they are and I lose the ones I scanned and saved, so I have to start over, ugh.
