Heavy Metal Series began in 2006 after I created 12 postcards for Fiberart for a Cause, to benefit the American Cancer Society.  Inspired by ring trim, zippers and metal embellishments, some may think it's about music, but it is simply a play on words.   The Shrine series is based on my fascination with focusing on a subject that interests me and my love for assemblage.  These art quilts are the fabric version of the beloved shrine made of wood.
