Recyclilng Old Zippers into New Art Quilts

My friend, Anne Copeland always brings me great things from her treasure hunts at the thrift store.  I can never find things like this at the places I shop. She brought me a group of really old zippers that were 96" long.  They are being recycled into a funky log cabin art quilt for The Alliance for American Quilts "New from Old" 2010 contest.

  1. love it! I have a fascination with zippers too (so magical the way the little teeth fit). How great of Annie to share them!

I thought of you the other day while shopping for a graduation dress for my daughter. One very hip store had lots of dresses with zippers used as embellishment...very cool.
