Soul Sisters

Soul Sisters - 16" Square for The Alliance for American Quilts 2011 Contest - Alliances:  People, Patterns, Passion.  Entries are due March 7th, so you still have time to make one. This piece is made with commercial cottons and Batiks that were Mistyfused onto wool blended felt, free motion machine quilted, with some hand painting, stenciling on their faces and hand sewn buttons around the edges. My inspiration?  Two friends having a "coffee break" via e-mail to keep in touch.  I enjoyed the play of patterns and color. Dedicated to women friends!

  1. This is just exquisite. The details are amazing. You do set a high bar, Jamie, but I hope this encourages others to join in the fun. This is such a cool, wide-open theme.
