| The Diamond Lilly Block Re-Done my way! Diamond Lil's Tipsy Tea Party. You may be asking why I would do this particular quilt that is based on a traditional pattern? I do love traditional quilts, and I have a nice collection at my house. But I am always intrigued of how quilters can interpret a block in a new way, in their own style. It was part of a project that never came about, so I thought I would share my process for making the quilt with you. |

| The background fabric (commercial cotton) is fused onto black blended wool felt. This is a great project for scraps. I made this in one large square, and then cut it into 7x7 squares. One of the squares is actually pieced together. |

| Just roll out the Mistyfuse 12" onto the fabric and fuse by laying a Goddess Sheet over the top, to protect your iron. MF doesn't change the hand of the cloth and it is my choice for fusing everything. |

| Begin free motion machine quilting with circles over the entire piece. I use a 40 wt polyester thread in black in both the top and bobbin. |

| Press with a dry iron to flatten out the piece that has been quilted |

| Begin cutting the triangles with a rotary cutter and ruler. That is a Martelli cutting mat, that is one of the best tools that I have in my studio. |
