Handi Quilter Avante Long Arm Machine

My new HandiQuilter Avante long arm machine.  This machine is made in the USA. It is 8 feet wide!  The wheels are already turning in my head as to what I am going to create!  I wonder how fast it will sew a zipper onto a quilt?  This is the Grand Prize from the Alliance for American Quilts contest 2011, where my art quilt "Soul Sisters" was voted on by the membership.  Now would be a good time to join this organization, so you will be ready to make your entry for 2012, after the announcement is made later this year.  Scott Noble of Sew Vac Ltd in Long Beach came to my studio to set up the machine.
Barbie, my muse sitting on the crowning glory in my studio!  I have dreamed of owning a long arm machine!

My Bernina has been moved to the other wall to make room for the long arm!
