Surface Explorations!

Introducing a new eMag for Quilting Arts Magazine  "Surface Explorations," where some talented artists will show you how they do their magic with surface design on cloth.  It is so fun to be able to share with you, a project, that I've been a part of for months!  I am honored to have been a part of this amazing project!  Woot!  The eMag is a unique and fun way to see how an artist works, by showing you the techniques they use in still photos, as well as, videos. I hope the projects inspire you.

I share a short tour of my studio, and my techniques for using stencils and stamps in my work.  Must be the 'rebel' in me, but I do all of my surface design, after the fact, that is, after I make the quilt, and in some cases, have it partially quilted.  Above is 'Down the the Valley' and it is the 'before' picture. There are step-by-step instructions for each project.

Eye candy colors, and I really enjoyed watching and listening to each artist talk about their work.   I love the way the eMag is on the screen, and you can move sideways and up and down to see everything.  Bios of each artist, their favorite techniques and some surprise interviews.  This is something that you don't want to miss!

Visit Jackie Lams website tomorrow for an insight into her section.

Note to self:  don't crumple the blue tape while you are talking in a video - it really doesn't make for a good background sound.  LOL.
