All Sewn Up...the Zipper Dress

Carefully free motion quilting with the zig zag stitch, through all of the layers, without breaking a needle

Detail shot of the bodice.  I hand sewed black and red embroidery thread in a running stitch, to give it texture and bring in the red for more balance

I love this view and think this will be a nice addition to my moo card designs

Finished.  19"wide by 24 1/2" high.  So darn happy!  Now I've got to decide where my design wall will be placed in my new studio.  It will be nice to have some 'new' work to look at and inspire me to finish the other pieces in this collection "Dress Up" for 8 that Create's gallery show in NY.   "Off the Hanger: Form & Surface" will be making it's debut at View in Old Forge NY.  The exhibit will run from Friday October 12, 2012 through December 2, 2012.  You can learn more about the gallery hosting the exhibit here.

  3. I just love how it came out and I did some sewing over items myself and was pleased that I was able to skip over them without breaking the needle;) Now I need to decide what to do, so I am procrastinating while I think.

  4. So unusual and quite a challenge I would think to sew all those zippers in.
