Back Pack Re-Do

This is my very old, but loved back pack.  It's original color was caramel.  At one time, I painted it green to use for a prop for a Girl Scout project.  I decided that it needed a re-do, so I started painting it blue, which will go with more of my clothes.

I am using acrylic paint and the first coat tells me that there will be several coats needed.

You can still see the green paint showing through
Blick Ultramarine blue and white that has some shine to it

I have achieved a number of coats of blue paint now, so I am starting by using a polka dot stencil with red acrylic paint.  I am not going for overall coverage, just here and there, but it will be the basis for everything else that is added on top of it

I used another piece of cloth to for quick dry scheme.  I can use the cloth for some other project

One of my 'city' stencils from Stencil Girl Products has this small cup and saucer on it.  Nice touch, for sure

It is coming together into the art back pack that I've always wanted

I used Fun Foam textures to create some marks

These designs carry over to the sides and back.

Here it is done!  I am so pleased.  My favorite back pack from Esprit.  It has a zipper in the back, so you don't have to open it from the top to get your wallet out.
