The Girl Scout Council of Orange County's local camp -- is celebrating its 40th anniversary over Memorial Day weekend "Memories to Carry With You" CLICK ON PIC TO SEE LARGER 20.5 Square - sold for $350 Text by grown up Girl Scout Beth Carroll
Oh my, 40 years! I was a camper there the first year it opened, I'm sure I wouldn't recognise it today. My Senior troop started the camp library and I was a councelor during the 1970 & 1971 summers. Now I feel old! But those were very special times for me.
Just got back from the 40th reunion! I was a camper there from 68-72, then an apprentice in 73 and staff in 74-76. What an amazing place and time. It is wonderful that our friendships endure and that so many girls and young women are building new ones.
I am the VERY HAPPY bidder of this beautiful quilt! I was a camper at Scherman in 1968-69, Counselor in 1978-79, Core Camp Director, Camp Director, and Outdoor Program Director from 1980-1986, and this quilt has a great emotional attachment. Thanks for your beautiful donation to help a few girls go to Camp this summer! Your quilt has found a wonderful new home. Jill "Corky" Cruse
