The Hip Bone is Connected to the Leg Bone

This is a gift for my orthopedic surgeon who did my hip replacement; it's 11x14 and I did a line drawing and then photo transferred it to chiffon; all of the black lines are made with free motion quilting
Up close and personal; my new hip is on the right side of the screen
very close up of my new hip, which by the way, my doctor gave me my x-ray and that is what I used as my reference point; it has jagged edges on the sides so that the bone can grow into it; four months on Dec 15th. It is so nice to be able to walk without being in pain.

    Jamie,
You are so creative and wonderful! Yea to the surgeon who helped to make your life more comfortable. Now all that energy you used to combat that pain can be channeled into even more art.

  14. My doctor really liked his gift and I think he was quite taken back by it. Perhaps not many of his patients make him gifts? He loved the humor in it and wants to hang it in one of the adult patient rooms.
