Clip Board Re-Do

I found this old large clip board at home, that originally used for painting watercolors.  I thought it would be great for my new studio to hang reminders for shows on, perhaps a 'to do' list, or even a schedule.  I painted the entire board with Gesso first, to provide a good layer of surface for decoupage

I used matte medium to decoupage maps, words, decorate papers, photographs onto the surface

Many of these images were from previously made pieces, where I color copied them with a laser printer.  The maps are from an old atlas.

I am using Liquitex Basics Acrylic paint for the background.
In some places, it took 2 coats of paint

I think that the black paint really makes everything 'POP'

a side view

Finished, and all it needs is a coat of water based varnish!

  2. Love it! The black makes it look like a twisted sister original and nobody else, no question. I too have never seen such a large clipboard!
