Personal Iconography

This year's theme for Dinner at Eight Artists is Personal Iconography: Graffiti on Cloth. I didn't have to ponder very long as to what my personal icons are in my work.

I had already made a quilt with my new fabric line with some of my iconic images on it, so I decided instead of reinventing the wheel, that I would just add to my quilt to make it 40x40

This is very personal to me. The lower 6" square of triangles was the pattern I used for my charm pack squares at Quilt Market in the schoolhouse.  The pattern was inspired by a quilt that Bill Volkening had found by Barbara McKie and he posted it on Facebook.

The entire quilt was constructed with each square and sewn together with rick rack, another favorite of mine
hop, skip, jump is the tag line for my new fabric line with RJR Fabrics. 'hopscotch' ships to stores in August 2017. So excited!  Dinner at Eight Artists exhibit will be shown at the International Quilt Market and Festival in Fall of 2017.

  1. I love your quilt, so fun and such a happy quilt. I like the idea of making individual blocks and then putting them together, nice for art quilting the pieces without the bulk.

  3. I love how you incorporated personal icons into your quilt, making it uniquely yours. The story behind each element adds depth, and the use of rick rack is a charming touch. Beautiful work
