Hanging The Space Between

Leslie Tucker Jenison, Judy Coates Perez and I arrived at the Hyatt in Long Beach in one rental van and my PT Cruiser.  Both vehicles contents quickly filled to the gills on two luggage carts. We all packed very efficiently for Festival, complete with 6 suitcases, 40 art quilts, 10+ bags, 2 portable carts to rolls the quilts to the convention center and supplies for 5 classes, 3 workshops, and 2 open studios.

BiG brag here - Dinner at Eight Artists has the most amazing exhibition committee - Loris Bogue, Jayne Larson, Pam Klebaum, Sherry Kleinman and Judy Coates Perez.  All self-starters ready to help any way that they can!  They were armed with levels, ladders, hanging devices and energy!

Judy was tall enough to hang quilts without the use of a ladder.  Leslie is eye-balling the top edge.

And part of the job of putting together our own exhibit, is that we have to do the signs too.  Quilts, Inc., is fabulous to work with.  They provide everything to put together the signs, velcro dots, plenty of boards, music stands and amazing enthusiasm.  Everybody is a team player when it comes to getting the show ready!

Leslie and Judy are putting together the signs on the floor and Pam Klebaum is placing in them on the floor next to the appropriate quilts

One side hung.  More views of this process can be viewed on Judy's blog.
