Quilting Arts Magazine arrived in my mailbox yesterday and I was so thrilled to hold it in my hands and flip though the pages of pure eye candy. I am so honored to have our exhibit "Rituals" and my article in the "Toolbox" featured in this issue. Thank you to everyone at Quilting Arts who made this possible! Judy Coates Perez's piece from Dinner at Eight Artists current exhibit "Rituals" graces the cover, and that is just the start of this amazing issue. "11 Art Quilts" is printed rather large on the cover about the quilt included. |
Vivika Hansen DeNegre, editor of Quilting Arts interviewed Leslie Tucker Jenison and me about our exhibits, curating, friendship, and our work in Dinner at Eight Artists |
The "Rituals" gallery features the work of nine artists from the exhibit - Susan Brubaker Knapp, Jeannie Palmer Moore, Susie Monday, Loris Bogue, Barb Forrister, Judy Coates Perez, Gerrie Congdon, Karen Rips and Virginia Spiegal. As curators, Leslie and I feel that it is important for the two of us to have a pieces in our exhibits, and our quilts are shown in the Q&A. If you are not a subscriber of Quilting Arts, run to your nearest quilting store, or book seller, and buy a copy of this issue! |
From the Toolbox - There's free motion quilting and then there's free motion cutting with these fabulous scissors by Havel's Sewing. You'll have to pick up a magazine to see and read about it. I am having a give-away on my blog for a copy of this issue of Quilting Arts and a pair of my favorite Havel's scissors (as shown here). Leave a comment, and I'll do a random selection on Sunday night, September 30th at 5:00pm PST. Congratulations to Connie Rose! You are the winner of the give-away! |
Please enter me in your drawing. I am a fan ever since a friend shared her copy of your Quilting Arts Video! cottonfields@embarqmail.com
